We’re excited to introduce the first edition of "BIG WALL"!
It’s a one-day open competition designed for all route lovers eager to conquer the hardest multipitch in Brussels.
In addition to the main challenge, you’ll have the chance to take part in outdoor activities and witness an epic crack climbing contest featuring experts in the discipline.
How to participate?
It’s simple!
Find your climbing partner, choose a team name, and register as a team of two. As part of your registration, you’ll need to indicate your maximum climbing level after three tries * for both team members.

Competition rules
Master your BIG WALL
You have to climb a 12-pitch route with your partner.
Each climber has 6 pitches to climb. One partner climbs the odd-numbered pitches, and the other climbs the even-numbered pitches. You cannot climb your partner’s pitches.
The topo of your route will be designed by us especially for your climbing team and revealed on the day of your ascent, based on the "maximum level after 3 tries" you provided during registration.
On the day of the climb, you will have to choose between 2 options : the "Soft" or "Hard" version of your multipitch.
The value of your multipitch is the sum of the points assigned to each pitch, ranging from 10 to 1,000 points per pitch.
Onsighting (no fall, no rest) a pitch grants full points. A second try reduces its value by 10%, and a third try by 20%. After that, the pitch is worth zero points. Your tries has to be added on your topo for the points calculation.
Push your limits on the CRACK pitch
You have to climb a crack section (because each multipitch in Bruxelles has a crack section !)
Plus vous grimperez haut dans la fissure, plus vous recevrez de points.
The best crack climbers of the day might earn a ticket to the crack climbing final with the pros — but the guest list remains a secret!
*What is "my maximum level after 3 tries"?
For example, Janja wants to participate to BIGWALL with her climbing buddy Adam.
Janja's level "onsight" is 7B (she makes it everytime she tries a 7B). She already did a couple of "8A" in her life but it tooks her a couple of weeks to make it. Nevertheless, in a good day, she can do a 7C in a session after 2 or 3 tries.
Her max level after 3 tries to communicate is "7C".
Adam's level "onsight" is 6B (he makes it everytime he tries a 6B). He already did a couple of "7A" in his life but it tooks him a couple of weeks to make it. Nevertheless, in a good day, he can do a 6C in a session after 2 or 3 tries.
His max level after 3 tries to communicate is "6C".

Note : Janja & Adam have to choose their routes from routes within the gym. They will indicate the number of tries per pitch.

Riders of the Storm
Projection
The free ascent of "Riders on the Storm" in Patagonia has been attempted by several teams over several decades. Siebe Vanhee & Sean Villanueva will come to present and explain how they, along with Nico Favresse, and Drew Smith, managed to conquer this legendary route!
General informations
- The competition will be done on top rope (no lead climbing).
- There is no need to be able to make a belay as far as you will belay your partner from the floor (as usual).
- The first pitch requires to have a 5B level at minimum.
- The minimum age for participation is 12 years old taking into account that routes are built for adult.
- Each participant needs to be autonomous in security.
- The payment confirm your subscription for the event.
- Each climbing session count only 70 persons/35 climbing team (total 210 for the event) in order to ensure a comfortable experience!
- By buying your ticket, you accept to be filmed or photographed. Your image might appear in photo or video.
